Massage Therapy

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and have been practicing for 4 years. MT104701

It is preferred to schedule 75-90 minutes for a first session. The extra time allows me a chance to assess the body and the healing that needs to take place. Our initial massage is given at a sliding scale (between $70-100)

BODYWORK

SWEDISH MASSAGE This gentle pressured massage relaxes the body, reduces stress, releases muscle tension, and promotes healthy blood and lymph circulation.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE Generally, when experiencing problems in the body that are chronic, usually sustained by injury, poor posture, muscle, tension, etc.—deep tissue massage is implemented. I use similar techniques as Swedish massage, but with a deeper, firmer pressure (adjusted to your comfort level) to further reduce muscle tension or knots, stretch and smooth out underlying tissues to readjust the structure of the body helping restore normal movement.

HOT STONE MASSAGE My personal favorite. Basalt rocks heated in water to 110-120 degrees, either placed directly on the skin or on a towel or sheet placed over the skin, to help facilitate muscle relaxation. The heat from the rocks decreases the tension in the muscles, making it easier for the therapist to work on the muscles and reduce knots more efficiently. The rocks are also used as tools during the massage to help strip the muscles of lactic acid and other toxins, and help smooth out muscle fibers. ($15 extra)

PRENATAL MASSAGE When pregnant, the body is constantly changing. The baby’s positioning and growth may cause tension and strain in various areas of the body. Getting a massage while pregnant is beneficial to help circulation, reduce stress and swelling in ankles and feet, reduce pelvic pain, relaxes and soothes the mother and baby, and improves digestion and sleep.

SONIC MASSAGE Incorporating Holographic Sound Healing (chakra balancing and energetic clearing) during a massage facilitates a whole body healing you have never experienced. The sound in the beginning, during and ending a session grounds, centers, soothes and relaxes, and clears the body of tension on all levels. Before we begin the session, we’ll talk about what intention you would like to set for your healing. Maybe you’re carrying a certain pain or discomfort in a particular area of your body, or maybe you feel like you’re literally carrying the world on your shoulders. Setting an intention that your body is whole, healthy and well, in perfect balance and harmony, moving with grace, ease, light and love. And from that point, setting your specific intention into motion, and thus setting your healing into motion, to continue even after the session is done. Feel renewed, and lasting results with a Sonic Massage. (100/hr, 150/1.5hr, 200/2hr)

AROMATHERAPY Can be incorporated into any of the massage sessions—essential oils are used to promote relaxation, physical and emotional well-being. Oils generally used during a massage are lavender, eucalyptus, and rosemary. If there is another scent you would want to accompany your treatment, let me know.

REFLEXOLOGY Hot towels are wrapped around the hands and feet for assisted relaxation. Applied pressure specific points that correspond with other parts of the body in both the organ and skeletal systems. Can be incorporated into any of the massage sessions. Separately: $35 for half hour
